Baby Skincare
Are you going to give the baby first bath? Please follow the tips given here. The skin of a baby is very smooth and very sensitive. So a cotton wool can be used to wipe and always use clean water which clears the affecting germs and chemicals and avoid dehydration of the skin. After the delivery, the baby may have few hairs left on it and a baby’s comb will help to remove them gently. Remember to have a baby comb before you go for delivery. Now, on speaking about the cleaning, the baby has few sensitive areas in it’s body like eyes, lips etc. Better leave them till the baby is used to bath or a gentle wiping can be given. Even after the bath if the baby is sticky, no self actions be done and the members of staff of hospital will be at your service for help. Also the nose and the ears should not be cleaned at the instance and strictly no usage of buds as it hurts the baby. Vernix is a substance which acts as a outer skin of your baby. It is a natural moisturiser and it should not be cleaned or tear. After sometime it get absorbed by itself. In the case of premature babies, the skin is even more soft and complicated. So till the proper due date of the mother all the artificial procedures should be stopped and let the baby get matured enough to get the services. For more information on that, you can contact NNU (Neo Natal Unit). We covered premature babies and now what about babies born after their due date. The vernix on the skin will get absorbed in the right time of due. So the baby will be left without vernix in the womb which results in the dry skin of the baby. Please do not use any artificial moisturisers or any chemical products as the skin get peeled off in next few days and the baby will have its own soft skin after that.
