Baby NamesNaming your Baby You are expecting a baby soon but you don't have a name sorted out yet, what can you do to make sure you arrive at the right decision? How do you go about choosing a name that will last a life time (unless of course its so bad that your child changes it by deed pole when they become an adult). Shakespeare wrote "What in a name? That which call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet" (Romeo and Juliet - II, ii, 1-2) It is true to say that whatever name you choose it does not change who what s/he is or will be. A name is a label you place on someone for life, so choosing one can be a daunting task. People use different reasons different rules when choosing a name. They range from naming their child after it's personality or someone special / someone of significance, to honor them. You may want to choose a name with some cultural meaning or root. Does it need to start with a certain letter? Need to represent a certain nationality? The Name Search | |||||||||||
